Healthcare Program Management

The course will provide an overview of project management techniques and tools as they apply to health care operations, projects, and programs. This includes: Developing a vision as to how the project fits into the overall business of the healthcare organization. Communicating the goals and objectives clearly to others, and why this is critical. Obtaining commitment from all involved and using teams, problem-solving, and leadership as important tools necessary to improve the odds of success. Creating a sound action plan that includes identifying the tasks, task relationships, scheduling, risk, and resources. Determining an appropriate balance of predictive planning versus reactive agility techniques. Monitoring progress during the execution of the plan and making changes to ensure the success of the project; or conversely, ending efforts not likely to benefit the organization.
